Author Anthony DePalma to lecture at St. Thomas

Author-journalist Anthony DePalma will speak April 23 at the next lecture in the Donald B. Regan Distinguished Lecture Series at the University of St. Thomas.

DePalma, a long-time New York Times reporter, is the author of "The Man Who Invented Fidel" (2006) and "Here: A Biography of the New American Continent (2001). He was a Times bureau chief in both Mexico and Canada. According to the lecture announcement, DePalma is currently working on a book about the health and environmental aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

The lecture series, which focuses on North American economic and political integration, is supported by a gift from North St. Paul businessman Donald B. Regan and is open to the public. The DePalma event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour and dinner on April 23 in the Schulze Grand Atrium of St. Thomas' School of Law in downtown Minneapolis.
