Few things are as romantic as sitting in a club or cozy restaurant with your sweetheart while someone sings a love song. Especially on Valentine’s Day. So this week, rather than the usual three picks, here’s a list of possibilities for Saturday night. None too pricey, most free, all lovey-dovey.

Carole Martin at the Artists’ Quarter. Martin is an old-style torch singer who does one of the best interpretations of “Blame It on My Youth” I’ve ever heard. (Check it out below.) When she sings a love song, she knows what she’s talking about and so do you. The AQ promises a “champagne special.” 9 p.m. ($10).

Maud Hixson at Cue. Backed by her trio (husband Rick Carlson on keys, Keith Boyles on bass, Nathan Norman on drums), the cool, classy Hixson performs vintage Valentines of the Jazz Age. Dinner is sold out but the lounge is first-come, first-served (about 30 seats available). 7 p.m. No cover.

Paula Lammers at the Dakota County Steakhouse. Lammers teams up with singer Reeves Cary for romantic duets. With Kevin Gastonguay on piano, Jason McLean on bass, and Kerry Johnson on drums. 7 p.m. No cover.

Alicia Wiley at Café Maude. The lovely Wiley on voice and keys, the handsome singer-songwriter Kevin Steinman on guitar and voice perform jazz, folk and Americana. 9 p.m., no cover.

Sophia Shorai at the Dakota. This is the Dakota’s late-night show. The earlier prix fixe dinner with Connie Evingson is sold out. I’ve seen Shorai at the Times Bar and Cafe, and I like her a lot. She’ll bring a fine trio: Tanner Taylor on piano, Cody McKinney on bass, Greg Schutte on drums. 10:30 p.m. ($5).

The Girls at the Times. Lori Dokken, Judi Donaghy and Patty Peterson with special guest Rachel Holder. Dokken predicts "plenty of romantic songs to pick from ... as well as a healthy outlook on the reality of relationships." 9 p.m. No cover.

Or you can stay home with that bottle of champagne you’ve been chilling. Maryann Sullivan is planning a Valentine’s Day show for her Corner Jazz program on KBEM (88.5 FM). Pop the cork, bring out the chocolates and tune in from 9 p.m.-11 p.m.
