Smithsonian exhibit on Roberto Clemente opens in Austin, Minn.

Here's news about a good pirate.
A traveling Smithsonian exhibit on the life of Roberto Clemente is now up at bat in Austin, Minn.
Clemente is the Hall of Fame outfielder who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1950s, '60s and early '70s.
A Puerto Rico native, he spent much time on charitable causes, and was flying to Nicaragua in 1972 to help with earthquake relief when he died in a plane crash.
The exhibit now in the Austin Public Library includes information about Clemente's baseball career and the character of the man. It's in both English and Spanish.
Austin Library Director Ann Hokanson told the Austin Daily Herald that calls are coming from as far away as the Twin Cities regarding the display because the Austin is its only planned Minnesota stop.
"Beyond Baseball: The Life of Roberto Clemente" runs through June 7 and can be seen during the library's regular hours:
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1-5 p.m. (closed Sundays during the summer)
