TV special features noted Rose Ensemble and its 'early music'

If you have digital cable television or are a DirecTV subscriber, here’s a chance to see and hear the Rose Ensemble, the St. Paul-based chamber group that performs vocal and instrumental music around the world.
On Sunday, Twin Cities Public Television will air a 30-minute program, “Rose Ensemble: Harmonies Across Time,” at 7 p.m. on its TPT MN channel. That’s Channel 2-2 for those who get it over the air in digital. On Comcast, it’s Channel 202 in Minneapolis and 243 in St. Paul. Mediacom carries it on Channel 102, and Charter carries it on Channel 396.
The same program is being rebroadcast at various times through July. Go here for the full schedule.
The Rose Ensemble was founded in 1996 by Jordan Sramek. It’s a tight little group of singers - a “vocal consort” -- and a handful of instrumentalists who are dedicated to early music (“Reawakening the Ancient” is their advertising motto). Over the years, they’ve put out some pretty terrific albums and have a full season of local concerts. To learn more, go here.
