With Bedlam Theater closing in September (go here for details), there’s never been a better time for dinner and a show at the seat-of-its-pants venue. Not only does this laid-back place for radical artmaking provide an intimate theater for shows like Rosy Simas Danse, but its rooftop dining area offers plenty of space for drinking and noshing before and after — with spectacular views of downtown Minneapolis.
The show this weekend, “it's strange to be here, the mystery never leaves you,” by Rosy Simas Danse, includes performers Lindsay Anderson, Erin Drummond, Denise Gagner, Dustin Haug, Blake Nellis, Sharon Picasso, Rosy Simas and Tamin Totzke. The work was inspired by the words of John O'Donohue, an Irish poet and Hegelian philosopher known for popularizing aspects of Celtic spirituality or neo-paganism.
To see video clips of Simas’ atmospheric past work, go here.
“it's strange to be here, the mystery never leaves you,” by Rosy Simas Danse; 8 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Bedlam Theater, Minneapolis. Tickets $12-$14. 612-341-1038.
