Over the past few weeks, dozens of BCC book clubs have sent in reading recommendations in the genres of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and drama.

As expected, book clubbers recommended mostly fiction and nonfiction works -- and only a handful of poetry collections and plays. To fill out the lists of favorites -- and hopefully inspire book groups to broaden the scope of their reading, I’ve supplemented member suggestions with my own.  

My suggestions are marked with asterisks.
