On Feb. 1, the Club Book author series will welcome best-selling fiction writer Stewart O'Nan to the Southdale Library to read from his latest novel, "The Odds: A Love Story," a heartbreaking tale of a man and woman on the brink of divorce and bankruptcy, trying to determine whether the difficulty of the unknown outweighs the pain of the familiar.

O'Nan is the acclaimed author of 13 complex and stylistically diverse novels, including "Snow Angels" — which was made into a major motion picture in 2007, "A Prayer for the Dying," "Songs for the Missing," "Wish You Were Here" and its sequal "Emily, Alone," and "Last Night at the Lobster."
Named one of the 20 Best Young American Novelists by Granta, O'Nan has also penned two works of nonfiction — "The Circus Fire" and "Faithful: Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season" (co-authored with Stephen King) — and the screenplay "Poe."
Club Book programs are free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served. A book sale and signing follow presentation.
