    Klobuchar votes for Lieberman

    Didn't see anything this morning about Sen. Amy Klobuchar's vote yesterday on the Joe Lieberman question.

    Turns out there's no surprise; Klobuchar — who is not exactly a member of the Congressional Daily Kos Caucus — voted with the 42-13 majority to let Lieberman keep his coveted Homeland Security committee chairmanship despite months of Obama-bashing.

    Obama, in fact, provided the cover for senators like Klobuchar by urging soon-to-be-ex-colleagues to be merciful.

    Klobuchar telegraphed her position several days ago when she told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow she wanted a Lieberman apology but "I would like him to remain in our caucus."

    Here's her post-vote statement:

    "The political season is over and the season for governance has begun. I appreciate that Sen. Lieberman has acknowledged he regretted some of the things he said in the heat of the electoral battle, and believe that the time has come to move forward — not out of revenge, but with a spirit of reconciliation and a focus on the future of our country."
