It will actually be a worldwide treasure trove; Life magazine and Google have announced a partnership to make 10 million archival photos available online. CNet says 97 percent of the photos have never been publicly available before.
This is orgasmic for any lover of photography or history; the portal is here. A search for "Minnesota" yields these beauties:
