KOOL-108 layoffs: Moran, Riggs

From inside sources, I'm hearing DJs Derek Moran and Dan Riggs were let go as part of today's Clear Channel purge. From the looks of the Golden Oldie's schedule, that's half of their weekday crew. Moran worked 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Riggs 6-9 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight.

As with other recent radio separations (Jack Rice at WCCO-AM, Tommy Mischke at KSTP-AM and Chad Hartman at KFAN), stations aren't messing with drivetime hosts (yet), but timeslots with fewer listeners are squarely in the cross-hairs.
