Just got a release from the Minnesota Historical Society that some of its three million feet of KSTP-TV news footage from 1948 to 1993 is available online.

For now, the selections are pretty spotty, can't be embedded or directly linked, and some older ones lack sound. Still, there's plenty of neat stuff, including a 1956 Met Stadium groundbreaking, 1965 "Divorce Reform," (behatted dudes complaining about the courts), 1966 computers in the classroom, and 1979 gas lines.

According to the release, the Hubbard family donated the footage in 1994 and MHS spent the next decade preserving it. They promise a full index in the near future.
