Longtime Braublog readers might remember last fall's running feature: "Do editorial boards hate Al Franken?" It charted the virtual shutout of the Democrat by state dailies. The Winona Daily News finally broke an 11-0 Coleman/Barkley string.
Now, with the election contest's end in sight (state division, anyway), it's time to chart the dailies' views on whether Norm Coleman should drop out.
I've done my best to search the various sites, but as this is the first edition, there will probably be omissions. Please email me if I've missed something, or add it in the comments.
The out-of-the-gate scorecard shows no wipeout, but as in the real world, Franken has a small lead:
Quit now, Norm: 5
Stay the course for now, Norm: 4
Two other categories are for fence-sitters:
Lamely wishy-washy: 2
Papers still on the sidelines: 11
The specifics:
Quit now, Norm
