    Newsroom shake-up at MPR

    I don't have enough yet to assess the significance, but Minnesota Public Radio has reshuffled its newsroom leadership.

    News director Bill Wareham has been replaced by his current deputy, Mike Edgerly, with former state Capitol correspondent Laura McCallum becoming the new number two. Wareham will become an editor, McCallum's current job title.

    News & Information Program Director Chris Worthington declined to provide a narrative behind the changes, but confirmed them. Edgerly had been news director at the start of the decade, but was demoted during the Bill Buzenberg regime. Wareham got the director's chair in 2005, near the end of that era.

    One source says Worthington spoke at a morning meeting of a shaking things up. As soon as I figure out to what end, I'll let you know.
