One-stop lists: Minnesota journalists on Twitter

By David Brauer | Published Tue, Nov 3 2009 10:50 am

Last week, the quick-message service Twitter unleashed its "list" function on the niches. I decided to take advantage by compiling a list of all Minnesota and Twin Cities journalists.

It's a fun, quick single-click way to see what newsies are working on, linking to, or thinking about (though in the latter case, it's often sports).

The lists are publicly accessible, if you have a Twitter account. You can simply "follow" one of my lists, or use it to compile your own. Here's the run-down:

MnJournos. The goal here is to include every tweeting journalist in the state.

TCJournos. A more geographically specific subset of MnJournos, for the metro area.

MnTV. A subset of video folks only.

MnNewsRSS. This is where I put news organizations' robo-feeds, the kind with few human traces but lots of links.

There are certainly some omissions and inconsistencies above. If you should be on one of these lists and aren't, please email me; my address is at the end of the bio in this page's right-hand column.

I've made a few other lists that aren't completist, but if you're looking for new folks to follow, might be fun to troll through.

MnSmarties. Non-journalists I follow or check in on.

MnPols. Honestly, there are probably better compilations of Minnesota political types out there. This is a work in progress.

NatlMedia. Very idiosyncratic and not completist.
