MyTalk 107 cancels Lambert-Brundidge show
It wasn't exactly a conventional move some months back when MyTalk 107.1 added live talk at 7 p.m. — much less pay two hosts for an out-of-prime-time slot. But today, the station canceled the "Brian & Sheletta" show, featuring Daily Glean's own Brian Lambert and Sheletta Brundidge. Tuesday's show was their last.
MyTalk poohbah Dan Seeman says the show's ratings weren't bad, but the big reason for going the local route was because there wasn't compelling syndicated programming in the time slot. Now, apparently, there is. Starting next week, MyTalk will air the "Gayle King Show," previously heard only on satellite radio. King, for you cultural cretins, is best known as "Oprah's Best Friend."
Lambert will continue as a MyTalk fill-in host; Brundidge no longer has a gig at the station, Seeman says. The 7-9 p.m. slot will feature re-runs until King's show starts next week.

I've never listened to the show in question. But as a general rule, I abhor the replacement of locally generated programming by syndicated content.
