Twins announce 2011 season-ticket price hikes, and two cuts

By David Brauer | Published Mon, Aug 23 2010 11:38 am

I know it's a departure from my usual media blather, but since I've written about Target Field over the years, thought I'd pass along the first price increases.

In a letter to season ticket-holders, the Twins announced per-game price hikes ranging from 3 to 9 percent. These are just for season-ticket packages (full, 40-game and 20-game); single-game pricing hasn't come out yet.

Overall, the cheapest seats are going up a buck, and lower-deck sections are going up $2-3. Two season-ticket areas in left field are going down a dollar, which is about a 5 percent price cut.

Because I sit in the cheap seats, I'm going to start with the least-expensive sections. (Section numbers and map colors are noted in parentheses):

    Third deck
Field view (301-307, dark green): $11, up a buck (9 percent increase).
Skyline view (323-327, aqua): $13, up a buck (8 percent increase).
Home plate view (308-322, maroon): $21, up a buck (5 percent increase).
Home run porch view (329-334; left field, blue): $19, down a buck (5 percent decrease).

    Second deck
    Field terrace (201-207, 223-228, gold): $21, up a buck (5 percent increase).
    Home plate terrace (208-222, orange-red): $30, up a buck (3 percent increase).
Home run porch (229-236, gray, left field): $22, no change.
Grandstand (237-240, yellow, right field): $19, down a buck (5 percent decrease).
Legends Club (A-R, light gray): $58/$50 up $3/$2 (5/4 percent increase).

    Lower deck
    Field box (101-103, 125-127, light blue): $31, up $2 (6 percent increase).
    Diamond box (104-107, 121-124, purple): $40, up $2 (5 percent increase).
Home plate box (108-120, dark blue): $53, up $3 (6 percent increase).
    Dugout box (1-6, 11-17, red): $72, up $3 (4 percent increase).
Left field bleachers (128-131, yellow): $20, up $1 (5 percent increase).

Sections not listed aren't sold on a season ticket basis. Prices for the priciest seats (the Champion's Club, in yellow behind the plate) aren't listed.
