Bob Ingrassia, who turned a news-aggregation side project into a Minnesota Public Radio job, is again moving up in the world. Ingrassia is leaving for a job with Fast Horse, the Minneapolis-based marketing firm.
Ingrassia will be "senior director for content marketing" at the boutique firm, which also employs MinnPost contributor and ex-newsie John Reinan. "My job will be to provide creative and strategic leadership as Fast Horse develops new ways to engage audiences for its clients," he says.

Ingrassia helped develop MPR's "Minnesota Today," which debuted in June. The site, funded in part with state Legacy Fund money, is sharply designed, with a nod to the Minnesota's regions and even non-text information such as photos and sounds.
The former Pioneer Press reporter worked for locally based Internet Broadcasting before coming to MPR. While at IB, Ingrassia created "Newsbobber," an exhaustive, individually curated sift through thousands of Minnesota news sources and blogs. Ingrassia gave up Newsbobber's curation when MPR hired him, but the site's excellent blog directory continues. Fast Horse is getting one of the area's top information omnivores.
Between BringMeTheNews getting a million bucks in investment capital, and Ingrassia getting another gig, it looks like aggregation is paying off around here.
As for departing MPR in "Minnesota Today's" infancy, Ingrassia says, "I'll be sad to leave. I've been honored to work with Chris Worthington (Managing Director, Regional News), Mike Reszler (Director, Digital Media) and all the other talented people at MPR. Helping develop and launch the Minnesota Today site has been a great experience and I'll be proud to watch it grow. MPR is taking a lead in online news in Minnesota — and it was rewarding to play a role in that ongoing effort."
