Suddenly, Michele Bachmann declares 'No Moss'
By David Brauer | 11/01/10
Ah, the perils of the political pander.
At 2:58 p.m. today, Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann had this purple-and-gold ad on the Star Tribune's "Access Vikings" page:

At 3:05 p.m.:

What changed? The Vikings fired Moss.
Bachmann bit hard on MossMania shortly after the Oct. 6 trade. At the time, I wondered about that. The wide receiver was pretty free about asserting his "liberty" from NFL "rules" and "bureaucrats," but he hardly seemed like the clean-living family values sort Republicans usually associate themselves with.
Even for a candidate remarkably adept at raising "straight cash, homey," there are some risks you just can't take hours before the election.
