Add it up: Twin Cities accountants can expect fewer jobs in early 2009
By Dan Haugen | 12/02/08
We'll start with the good news: 1 percent of chief financial officers in the Twin Cities say they expect to add accounting and finance staff during the first quarter of 2009. That's according to the latest Robert Half International Financial Hiring Index. Now the bad news: 5 percent of the region's CFO's expect to reduce personnel. The results are based on interviews with 200 CFOs at local companies with 20 or more employees. Most respondents said they don't anticipate any change in hiring during the first quarter.
