Northwest plane rolls out with new Delta paint job

What's one of the first things you do after buying a house? Paint! Same goes for airlines.
Delta Air Lines reports via its corporate blog that the first 747 in Northwest Airlines' fleet has been repainted with the Delta color scheme. The Red Tail is gone, replaced with Delta blue and accented with a triangular splash of red. The plane rolled out of a hangar in Victorville, Calif., and will re-enter service this month.
A new FAA call sign will help air traffic controllers pick out Northwest planes "in Delta colors" until the merger is complete.
