St. Jude Medical renames neurostimulation unit
By Dan Haugen | 12/05/08
It's been three years since St. Jude Medical acquired Advanced Neuromodulation Systems. Now, it's time to change the stationery. ANS drops its old name today and officially becomes the St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division. The change, along with the division's products, will be on display today at a neuromodulation meeting in Las Vegas. The unit develops, manufactures and sells products aimed at treating chronic pain, depression and other conditions by stimulating parts of the nervous system with small electrical pulses. Medtronic and Boston Scientific have similar divisions.
