Christopher & Banks closes final seven Acorn stores
A rash of retail closings is expected as shop owners tally up their holiday sales figures, the Associated Press reports.
One locally based retail store didn't quite make it past the holidays: Christopher & Banks announced that its seven remaining Acorn stores closed on Dec. 24.
The chain wasn't done in by the recent economic upheaval, however. The Plymouth-based women's apparel retailer decided last summer that the Acorn chain wasn't showing enough potential for "an acceptable long-term return."
C&B closed 29 of the 36 Acorn stores between September and November.

The company said in its statement this week that it will now focus resources on its two core brands, Christopher & Banks and C.J. Banks.
