Local Web firm Reside helps develop Obama idea portal

A local Web services firm has a behind-the-scenes role in helping President-elect Barack Obama engage citizens via technology.

Reside, based just west of downtown Minneapolis, helped to develop a Change.gov idea portal called the Citizen's Briefing Book.

The site lets users submit and share their ideas for the incoming president. Others can then read, rate and comment on them.

The site will be live until the Jan. 20 inauguration. After that, the highest-rated ideas will be prepared and presented to the president in a Citizen's Briefing Book.
