Chemical-free cleaner wins Tennant innovation award

Minneapolis-based Tennant Co. has received a Business Innovation of the Year award in Europe for its ec-H20 cleaner.

The ec-H20 cleaner converts regular tap water into a cleaning solution without adding any chemicals. The machine charges water with electricity, which causes its particles to break apart dirt and grime. (Watch a video explainer here.)

The award is part of the 2009 European Business Awards. The ec-H20 cleaner beat out more than 7,000 other applicants, according to the company.

The award "strengthens our belief that developing more environmental cleaning solutions is the right way to go for Tennant Co.," said Karel Huijser, the company's VP international.
