Cub Foods wins LEED Gold stamp for St. Paul store

Cub Foods says it's one of just three grocery stores in the nation to achieve LEED Gold Certification for one of its locations.
The SuperValu-owned grocery chain announced today that its big-box store in St. Paul's Phalen neighborhood has earned the certification for environmental and energy-efficient design.
The store features 44 skylights, LED parking lot lights, recycled building material and a water-efficient irrigation systsem.
Mayor Chris Coleman and the president of the U.S. Green Building Council both praise the store in the company's press release.
