D'Amico & Partners is closing its flagship restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, citing a changing economy and changing neighborhood.
D'Amico Cucina has been in Butler Square across from Target Center for more than 22 years. It will close June 27 after a three-week "retrospective" menu.
“The new stadium, the economy and various traffic and parking issues — and the long-term viability of higher-end restaurant concepts — led us to proactively close Cucina at this time,” D’Amico & Partners President and Co-Founder Richard D’Amico said in the company's statement.
The company said it is working on new Italian concepts and locations and hopes to re-hire staff within the coming months.
