Virtual Radiologic Corp. to be acquired by private equity firm for $294 million: Virtual Radiologic Corp., a radiology outsourcing company based in Eden Prairie, announced that it has entered a deal to be sold to Providence Equity Partners. The deal, valued at $294 million, calls for Providence to pay $17.25 per share in cash for all outstanding shares of Virtual Radiologic's common stock. Upon completion, Virtual Radiologic will become a private company, wholly owned by the Providence, R.I.-based private equity firm. Read full story

Valspar ups 2010 guidance on strong Q2: The Valspar Corp. increased sales volume and continued tight control over its expenses in the second quarter, moves that helped the company top analysts’ earnings estimates. The company’s net earnings were $61.7 million, or 61 cents per diluted share, double the income of $31.1 million, or 28 cents per share from the same quarter a year ago. Read full story

Northmarq keeps management at Normandale office park: Northmarq Real Estate Services has been notified by the owner of Normandale Lake Office Park in Bloomington that it has retained its leasing and management assignment there. TIAA-CREF, based in New York, issued a request for proposals in January for property management and leasing services, putting in question whether or not Northmarq would keep its 20-year assignment. Bloomington-based Northmarq is privately owned by the Pohlad family. Read full story

NASCAR's No. 33 to use Wheaties Fuel: NASCAR Driver Clint Bowyer will drive a car marked with Wheaties Fuel brand at a race in Indianapolis July 25. The No. 33 race car, owned by the Richard Childress Racing team, will use the Wheaties Fuel markings, instead of its typical Cheerios markings, for the Brickyard 400 race. It will be the first time that Wheaties Fuel will be a primary sponsor in the Sprint Cup Series. Read full story
