Best Buy’s Q1 earnings fall short: Shares of Best Buy were down after first-quarter earnings reported today fell short of analysts’ expectations. The Richfield-based consumer electronics retailer’s $155 million in profits were up 1.3 percent in the fiscal quarter ended May 29 from the $153 million posted in the same period one year prior. Same-store sales were up 2.8 percent, and revenues increased about 6.9 percent, from $10.1 billion $10.79 billion. Read full story

Digital Angel faces Nasdaq de-listing: Digital Angel Corp. faces de-listing from the Nasdaq exchange, the company said today. The South St. Paul-based animal and emergency identification developer’s stock  has been trading below the $1 bid price minimum. Digital Angel said it will ask for a hearing to present a plan to regain compliance. Read full story

Canadian REIT buys New Brighton’s DSI Building: A Winnipeg, Manitoba-based real estate investment trust, or REIT, will buy a north suburban property for about $18 million. Artis Real Estate Investment Trust said it has a purchase agreement for the New Brighton office building known as the DSI Building at 119 14th St. N.W. for $17.9 million. Read full story

Parasole’s latest, Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group, opens today:  Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group, , the newest South Minneapolis eatery and bar from Parasole Restaurant Holdings, opens Tuesday. Edina-based Parasole spent $4 million to open the restaurant, part of an aggressive campaign for growth that also will include the opening of Mozza Mia in Edina later this year. Read full story
