Chickens don't fly, but the price of chicken wings might. Analyst Raymond James has downgraded Buffalo Wild Wings' stock to "underperform" because of the recent flooding across the Midwest. Widespread crop damage has caused a spike in corn prices, and some predict that could affect everyone from the people who raise chickens to the people who slather basketfuls of their wings in Mango Habanero sauce.
I see Mosaic is selling off a nitrogen fertilizer company it owns in Canada, aye. The Plymouth-based fertilizer maker is seeking a buyer for Saskferco Products, Inc., in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan, according to the Associated Press. The company said it wants to focus on its core businesses of potash and phosphates fertilizers and use funds from the sale to help pay for an expansion of another facility in Saskatchewan.
The Twin Cities ad agency responsible for those Taco John's commercials featuring Whiplash the cowboy monkey is moving shop and changing names. Bob Geiger reports in Finance and Commerce that Kerker is becoming Preston Kelly and leaving Edina for the historic Minneapolis Fire Barn building. The article also notes, by the way, that Whiplash will be benched next month for a new campaign featuring "a van-driving disc jockey."
