Scotch tape has X-ray powers! UCLA physicists have figured out that the 3M invention gives off X-rays when peeled inside a vacuum chamber, the Associated Press reports. The discovery might one day be harnessed for making inexpensive X-ray machines for paramedics to use in places where electricity isn't available. So is the stuff safe to keep in your desk drawer? Yup. No X-rays are emitted in the presence of air.
I bet they're pumping their fists in Richfield over this one: Best Buy has scored an exclusive deal to sell the much anticipated/mocked Guns N' Roses release "Chinese Democracy." Target has agreed to pay $1.7 million to settle a lawsuit alleging it overcharged customers in California. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the lawsuit accused the company of using electronic cash register scanners that repeatedly charged customers more than the advertised price for items. The company didn't admit guilt but agreed to improve pricing procedures.
