    State offering laid-off workers a free entrepreneurship program (start-up funding not included)

    The state is offering a free program to help laid-off workers start their own businesses.

    The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is now accepting registrations for the entrepreneurship program. Participants must be at least 50 years old, eligible for the federal Dislocated Workers Program and be committed to starting a new business.

    The initiative does not include any start-up money, grants or other financial help. People interested in signing-up can contact a Minnesota WorkForce Center or call 1-888-GET-JOBS.
