    Plaintiffs' lawyers accuse judge of Medtronic conflict

    A group of plaintiffs' lawyers are questioning the dismissal of lawsuits against Medtronic after it was revealed the judge's son works for the law local firm that represents Medtronic.

    The Associated Press is reporting today that U.S. District Court Judge Richard Kyle did not disclose that his son works for Fredrikson & Bryon, whose clients include Medtronic.

    Judge Kyle dismissed thousands of lawsuits against Medtronic that claimed potentially faulty wires in the company's Sprint Fidelis defibrillators.

    Medtronic said in a statement to the AP that Kyle's son never represented Medtronic and that the lawyers' complaints are "clearly an effort to remove a well respected federal judge following rulings the plaintiffs' lawyers do not like."
