I'll drink to this.
Twin Cities Business reports that sales by Minnesota craft beer brewers in 2008 were up 74.5 percent from the previous year. That's according to a new report by the Association of Brewers, a Colorado trade group.
Nationally, craft beer sales were up 5.8 percent in 2008, but in Minnesota we've had room to grow. A few local small-batch brewers have come into their own in recent years, including Surly, Flat Earth and Lift Bridge.
Craft brewing accounts for about $6.3 billion of the $101 billion beer market, according to the report.
