    Cub Foods giving customers nickel off for reusable bags

    Are you the type who needs a little extra incentive to bring a bag from home when you grocery shop? How about a shiny nickel?

    Cub Foods is celebrating Earth Day by offering shoppers five cents off their grocery bill for every reusable grocery bag used now through Saturday.

    (If Cub really wanted to impress me, they'd have used today to announce they were phasing out plastic bags like some other grocery stores have done. Good that they recycle them, at least.)

    Cub Foods also will have Shred-it paper shredding and recycling vehicles on site at 13 metro locations from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday free of charge. Details in the company's press release.
