A lot of chatter about 3M going around this afternoon:
• A trial court was wrong to grant class-action status to an age-discrimination lawsuit against 3M, the Minnesota Court of Appeals said today. The Associated Press reports that the lower court needs to resolve disputes among expert witnesses before certifying the class.
• 3M is significantly ramping up production of its N95 respirator masks, which are suddenly in high demand because of swine flu concerns, the Star Tribune reports. The mask, which was also in demand during the 2003 SARS outbreak, is currently on back order, a spokeswoman said.
• And investment writers continue to glow/speculate/expound on optimistic comments made by CEO George Buckley after reporting quarterly results last week. The Motley Fool asks whether gray skies are clearing up at 3M?
