I'm running out of puns to describe Buffalo Wild Wings' performance. I've already used "hot," "blazin," and "habanero," so what adjective am I going to use to describe the company's latest surge in profits?
The Minneapolis-based restaurant chain let investors know this morning that its net earnings for the first three months of 2009 were up more than 30 percent, compared with the same period a year ago.
A lot of that has to do with the company's rapid expansion -- the chain added nearly 75 locations since the first quarter of 2008. But even without those spots, sales would have been up more than 6 percent.
It's looking like beer, chicken wings and big TVs really are recession-proof.
