Airlines don't have immunity to swine flu either.
Delta Air Lines told shareholders at a meeting in New York today that it expects the virus to drain $250 million from the company's annual revenue this year, the Associated Press reports.
That's a bigger, longer-term number than what the company shared in a letter to employees on Friday. That note, CNN reports, said the airline expected a $125 million to $150 million drop in the second quarter.
The company is cutting capacity further than it previously said it would. The routes most at risk are those running to and from Mexico, Latin America, and Asia, where SARS took a similar toll a few years ago.
