    Toyota using Cargill bio-fiber in Prius floor mats

    We already put corn in our fuel tanks.

    Now, Toyota customers can put it in their floor mats.

    Toyota announced today Prius customers can buy "deluxe" floor mats made from Ingeo, a corn-based fiber from a Cargill subsidiary. The material is manufactured in Nebraska by NatureWorks.

    Making the floor mats out of plant material instead of petroleum-based nylon produces 90 percent less carbon dioxide emissions, according to the company.
