I wonder if this economy has companies reconsidering the prospect of long, drawn-out legal battles.
Today brings news of another settlement announcement from a prominent Minnesota company -- the third we've reported in as many weeks.
The Toro Co. says it's reached a settlement with Advanced Sensor Technology to end their dispute over wireless soil-monitoring technology. Neither party admitted wrongdoing, and the terms were confidential.
Medtronic said Monday it would pay $400 million to end a dispute over stents with Abbott Laboratories, and Imation said earlier this month that it would pay $53 million to Philips Electronics to settle a disagreement over their recordable optical media.
