    St. Jude Medical opens physician training center

    St. Jude Medical has announced the opening of a learning center in Brussels, Belgium, where the company will train physicians who treat heart disease.

    The center is called the St. Jude Medical Advanced Learning Center and seeks to make physicians more familiar with various procedures and technologies.

    "The training and hands-on experiences at the center will help develop physician knowledge and skills on the safe, effective use of St. Jude Medical products to enhance patient care," said Denis Gestin, president of St. Jude Medical's International Division.

    The curriculum includes cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology treatments, heart valve replacement, and repairing openings in the heart's sides.
