    Minnesota companies preparing to fight H1N1 flu

    Minnesota companies "are stocking up on hand sanitizer, creating informational intranet sites for their workers and engaging in contingency planning" in anticipation of H1N1 swine flu, the Business Journal reports.

    U.S. Bank is teaching employees how to cough (into your elbow, not your hand). Ecolab is installing hand-sanitizer dispensers throughout its corporate headquarters. And Medtronic is awarding extra sick days to employees.

    Despite the anecdotes, U of M infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm says most companies are not prepared for the potential disruptions H1N1 could deliver in the months ahead.
