As great as the viewing is promised to be at the new Twins outdoor baseball stadium, there will be times when fans in the stands need to check out the action on a television screen -- while waiting in line for hot dogs, maybe. Or while running to the bathroom. Or sitting in a suite, hoping to catch the instant replay.
On Tuesday, Best Buy Co. of Richfield announced a sponsorship deal to provide 625 television screens for the stadium.
According to Finance and Commerce:
Under terms of the agreement, the Twins will buy more than 625 screens, 400 of them Insignia-brand flat-screens, for use in the new stadium. They allow the Twins to link every screen in the ball park. Insignia is Best Buy’s lower-priced line of electronics.
The Twins have been quite successful at lining up sponsorships for the new field, according to the publication:
The team has held numerous news conferences during the last two years, heralding everything from a new food service vendor to the stadium’s 25-year naming rights deal with Target Corp. to the recent announcement of Treasure Island Resort & Casino as a founding partner.
