Sun Country draws interest from prospective bidder: Sun Country Airlines has received “a letter of interest from a qualified prospective buyer” for a price that may be of interest to Sun Country and its creditors, according to a bankruptcy court filing. The Mendota Heights-based carrier did not reveal the name of the prospective bidder. Read full story
E. coli victim sues Cargill for $100M: A Minnesota woman who was left paralyzed after eating an E. coli-tainted hamburger is suing Cargill Inc. for $100 million. Stephanie Smith, a 22-year-old children’s dance instructor, was diagnosed with an E. coli infection in September 2007 after eating a burger made by Minnetonka-based Cargill. Read full story
JetChoice sues Trooien for $300K in fees: A limited liability company that’s part of bankrupt private-aviation firm JetChoice is suing Jerry Trooien, saying the St. Paul businessman owes it about $300,000 in unpaid fees. JetChoice filed for Chapter 7 bankrupcty last spring, as its two high-profile owners — Trooien and David Kloeber — battled one another in court. Trooien lost a bid to stop Kloeber from liquidating JetChoice shortly before the business filed for bankruptcy. Read full story
St. Jude gets FDA approval for new device: St. Jude Medical said today that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its Penta surgical lead for neurostimulation surgery. Neurostimulation therapy is used to manage chronic pain of the trunk and limbs and treat pain from failed back surgeries. Read full story
Delta traffic falls 7.1% in November: Delta Air Lines’ traffic declined in November, the carrier reported today. System traffic, including Delta and Northwest Airlines Corp. operations, fell 7.1 percent in November, compared with an 8.4 percent drop in capacity last November. Read full story
