KQ's Barnard changes mind, won't retire: KQRS-FM morning talk show host Tom Barnard, who in September announced that he would retire in December 2012, now says he’ll stay at the station indefinitely, BringMeTheNews reports. Big G to reduce sugar in children's cereals: General Mills Inc. today pledged to reduce sugar in cereals advertised to children to single-digit grams of sugar per serving. The Golden Valley food manufacturer said it already has launched the initiative and some progress has been made. While reducing sugar, the company said it’s also increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grains. Read full story 

State awards $11M in affordable housing grants: The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has distributed $10.9 million of federal stimulus funds to 31 organizations in Minnesota working to help individuals, families and unaccompanied youth find affordable housing, the agency announced Tuesday. UnitedHealthcare launches iPhone app for finding doctors: Consumers will be able to access UnitedHealthcare’s network of doctors, clinics, hospitals and other health care services via a new app for the Apple iPhone, the company announced today. The new DocGPS app allows users to tailor a search to their specific health plan and locate nearby doctors, clinics and hospitals within the UnitedHealthcare network using GPS. Read full story
