St. John’s Abbey monks return Petters cash: The monks of St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville will return $2 million donated by the foundation of Ponzi-scheme mastermind Tom Petters, according to media reports. The money was to go to the Petters Pavilion, a 3,500-square-foot expansion of the abbey’s chapter house that was completed in May 2007. Petters had donated the money in honor of his parents, Fred and Rosemary, who have worshipped at the Abbey Church. Read full story

Valleyfair owner acquired by Apollo Global Management: Cedar Fair LP, the owner of Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee, will be acquired by Apollo Global Management. Apollo, a private equity firm, will pay $11.50 in cash for each limited partnership unit, for a total of about $2.4 billion. Read full story

Genmar sells Lake Minnetonka marina for $3M: Genmar Corp. has sold a 3.28-acre marina on Lake Minnnetonka for $3 million. Bloomington-based NorthMarq Real Estate Group represented Genmar in the sale. The marina, at 1449 Shoreline Drive in Orono has 111 boat slips and 3,300 feet of shoreline. Read full story

DKY picks up Zantigo as client: Minneapolis-based integrated marketing communications firm DKY has been named agency of record for area Mexican restaurant chain Zantigo. Zantigo will use DKY for strategic planning, campaign development, media planning and interactive initiatives. New creative is expected by the middle of next year. Read full story
