    Mortenson wins $59M stimulus contract: M.A. Mortenson Co. has won a $59.4 million contract to build a courthouse in Billings, Mont. The contract, awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration, is backed by federal stimulus dollars. Read full story

    Wells Fargo sued over lending: The city of Memphis and Shelby County, Tenn., are suing Wells Fargo & Co. under the Fair Housing Act, accusing the bank of “unlawful, irresponsible, unfair, deceptive and discriminatory mortgage-lending practices” in that market. The civil litigation alleges Wells Fargo targeted minority communities for predatory practices that caused a disproportionate and unnecessary number of foreclosures. Wells Fargo, which has a significant presence in Minneapolis, couldn’t be reached for comment. Read full story

    Minnesota Twins take keys to Target Field: Mortenson Construction today tossed the Minnesota Twins the keys to Target Field. The team is now officially running the stadium, which Golden Valley-based Mortenson finished building two months ahead of schedule. The builder broke ground on the $425 million ballpark in August of 2007. Read full story

    Kiplinger’s: U ranks 52nd in “best value”: Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine has ranked the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus 52nd on its list of the top 100 “best value” colleges. The publication determines a four-year public school’s rank by comparing its academic quality and students’ costs. In the category of best value for out-of-state students, the University of Minnesota landed at No. 7. Read full story

    Target debuts bulk goods promotion: Looking to bolster its “Pay Less” marketing message, Target Corp. has launched a limited-time promotion called The Great Save, featuring bulk-packaged and other low-priced merchandise inside about 1,000 of its 1,740 stores. The Great Save, modeled after warehouse clubs like Costco and Sam’s Club, will include such products such as paper towels, granola bars, T-shirts and bath towels. Read full story
