Good Earth licenses name to General Mills for shelf-stable meals: Good Earth, a brand best known for its all-natural teas, is expanding into the food category with a line of shelf-stable meals inspired by the Good Earth Restaurants through a licensing agreement with General Mills. General Mills’ Good Earth Restaurant Favorites meals feature 100 percent whole-grain pastas and rices, no artificial preservatives, no artificial flavors and zero grams trans fats. Read full story
Forbes ranks Twin Cities best place for working mothers: Minneapolis and St. Paul topped Forbes magazine’s list of the Top 20 Cities For Working Mothers. In rounding up the 2010 winners, the magazine factored in the cost of living, crime rates, unemployment rates, school systems and health care, among other items. Read full story
Surdyk’s Flights wine bar opens at MSP airport: Surdyk’s, a liquor and gourmet foods retailer in Minneapolis, opened its new wine bar, the first of its kind at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Saturday. Surdyk’s Flights Wine Market & Bar is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Besides selling wine by the glass and bottle, the store will sell deli items, breakfasts, sweets, cocktails, bread, cigars, cheese and beer. Read full story
Stuart Harvey named CEO of Ceridian: Stuart Harvey Jr. has been named the new CEO of Ceridian Corp. Harvey is leaving his job as CEO of Global Payment Solutions of Elavon Inc. Formerly NOVA Information Systems, Elavon, is an Atlanta-based payment processing firm that is also a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp. At Ceridian, Harvey replaces board member Lee Kennedy, who has been serving as interim CEO since January. Read full story
