    Minnesota business index surpasses regional average, remains above growth-neutral: The release of August’s Business Conditions Index for the Mid-America region found Minnesota ahead of the curve, with an index that slipped only slightly and remains ahead of the regional average. At 63.7, Minnesota’s index surpassed the region’s 55.8 but missed its July index of 64.4 and June’s 65.5. Even so, the state’s seen 13 straight months of above growth-neutral indexes.     Thomson Reuters offering buyouts to 130 workers: Thomson Reuters is offering buyouts to 130 workers in its Legal Editorial Operations business, which has offices in Eagan and in Rochester, N.Y. The buyouts will target publishing specialists, who merge and assign keys to data, as well as quality-assurance workers, a spokesperson for Thomson’s Eagan-based legal division said. The company’s legal editorial services operations unit develops content used in Thomson’s WestLaw legal-research products. Read full story

    VisionShare's lease deal for MinuteClinic space falls apart: VisionShare has changed its plans and now won’t be moving into the former MinuteClinic space in downtown Minneapolis, as it had planned. Mark Briggs, CEO of the Minneapolis-based health care IT firm, said his company had been very close to finalizing a deal with CVS Caremark Corp. for about 52,000 square feet that was previously occupied by MinuteClinic’s corporate headquarters. But CVS informed VisionShare on Friday that it was “going a different direction” because CVS’ plans to use the space to accommodate a company it recently acquired, Briggs said. Read full story
