April’s campaign fundraising reports are in! The new filings show that Democrat Al Franken outraised Republican Norm Coleman $2.6 million to $2.3 million, according to CQ.

Coleman donor notables include Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn of Texas, who both gave $5,000 via their political action committees.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee also gave $10,000 to the recount fund, as did Idaho Sen. Michael D. Crapo and Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson.

Meanwhile, Franken fundraisers included Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, who gave $5,000 via his political action committee, as did Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, New Jersey Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg and Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin. A handful of other Democrats in the House and Senate gave between $1,000 and $2,000, CQ reports.

Hollywood also happened to sprinkle some significant tinsel on Franken’s campaign. Tom Hanks gave the maximum $12,300 donation. Two of Franken’s fellow veterans of the “Saturday Night Live” television program — Jane Curtin and Mike Myers — contributed, along with comedians Steve Martin and Jason Alexander, composer Burt Bacharach and novelist John Grisham.
