Not only do republicans not offer any alternatives to status quo health insurance ripoffs they are determined not to have a rational public debate about national health insurance. This add typifies what will be their effort to stop natioinal health care with lies and fear mongering durring the August legislative recess. The arguments for a national health insurance policy are so strong that still a whopping 70 percent support government run universal health coverage. The corrupt for profit insurance industry is betting that republican adds targeting blue dogs will get them off the fence and oppose the government option for fear of loosing their electorate. I actually think these adds are less about touting the republican alternative than intimidating the blue dogs into dropping all support for national health plans. Look for health insurance companies and pharmaseuticals to fatten the cash reserves of the RNC. At this point republicans don't support anything that benefits the middle class if it has even a minute impact on the rising income of their wealthy base.

I can't understand why they're targeting Colin Peterson, who votes with the Republicans more often than not.
